Intelligent steam distillation apparatus is a chemical laboratory equipment mainly used for extracting and separating active ingredients. In fact, it is the process of mixing a mixture with a solvent with a lower boiling point, heating it until the mixture vaporizes to generate steam, and then cooling it through a condenser tube to become liquid and collect it. This principle is called steam distillation.
Water vapor is a commonly used distillation agent due to its low cost, relative safety, and easy availability. In steam distillation, the sample mixture is placed in a round bottom flask and an appropriate amount of water is added. There is a secondary convex lens (or reaction plug) above the flask, with an inlet (which can supply nitrogen from the outside) and a rubber stopper inserted into the thermometer. Use electric heating elements such as flame heaters to directly heat the bottom of the flask, causing the mixture to boil and produce steam. After being transferred to the next step, the water vapor enters the vertical flat glass condenser, where it condenses and flows back into the flask. Finally, collect the extract from the flask.
This method is suitable for compounds that form mixtures with high boiling points and slow volatilization, or for active ingredients that are easily co evaporated with conventional organic solvents and cannot be extracted and separated using organic solvents. Its characteristics are simple experimental operation, short time consumption, and high efficiency, which can effectively separate and extract target compounds.

2. Technical requirements for ST106-3RW intelligent steam distillation apparatus:
2.1. The intelligent integrated distillation apparatus includes the following units: heating control unit, built-in cooling water self circulation unit, distillation endpoint intelligent control unit, anti backflow protection unit, and steam condensation unit.
2.2 Heating control unit:
2.2.1 The heating device adopts a bowl shaped far-infrared ceramic vessel suitable for heating round bottom flasks, which has high thermal radiation efficiency, low power consumption, and can be controlled by a single hole,
2.2.2 The heating area is equipped with insulation design to prevent heat loss and ensure uniform and stable heating of the sample;
2.2.3 The control system is designed with a LCD touch screen and has micro boiling and full boiling control modes. It automatically controls the heating rate according to different sample boiling points to ensure stable distillation experiments and controllable sample boiling phenomena;
2.3 Built in cooling water self circulating unit
2.3.1 The host includes a built-in cooling water tank (about 30L), and the cooling circulation system (compressor refrigeration) is integrated as a whole, without using an external cooling water circulation machine or tap water cooling
2.3.2 Input power of compressor ≤ 800W, cooling power ≥ 2000W
2.4 Quantitative Distillation Unit:
2.4.1 The single hole distillation volume can be manually set to 1-500ml. After the distillation is completed, the system can automatically power off to end the distillation and lock the outlet of the distillate to prevent excessive distillation from causing experimental failure;
2.4.2 The distillation receiving area is not limited by the shape of the receiving bottle, and the distillate receiving tray is easy to replace;
2.4.3 After distillation, a clear signal can be given to indicate the end of distillation, such as sound and light alarm prompts.
2.5 Anti excessive distillation protection system:
To prevent excessive distillation of the distillate, an anti excessive distillation protection system may be designed at the outlet of each distillate. After the distillation is completed, the system can automatically lock the distillate outlet, and the residual liquid in the pipeline can be discharged by one click venting
2.6 Steam Condensation Unit:
To improve distillation efficiency, the steam area and cooling area are designed separately. The steam chamber is located outside the cooling water chamber and adopts double-layer vacuum technology. The upper part of the condenser tube is equipped with a grinding plug for easy cleaning of the condenser tube.
